Introduction

Springfield is the capital of Illinois! For a long time, I thought it was Chicago. It is a lovely city located in central Illinois, around 3h drive from Chicago and 2h drive from St. Louis. At the same time, you can access it by Amtrak train, which is a very good and affordable option. Also, you can use Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport to fly from Chicago.

The city has a population of around 100,000 people and offers a blend of historic architecture, museums, parks, and cultural events. Springfield’s welcoming atmosphere and Lincoln’s influence make it a popular destination for history enthusiasts and tourists interested in American heritage.
