“The Little Flower,” St. Thérèse of Lisieux, was in California!

I found out on October 15th while I was in New York City capturing the Eucharistic Procession.

It was a bittersweet feeling—I couldn’t be in two places at the same time.

I really wanted to capture this amazing visitation of her relics in our country.

But God made it work!

Just a couple of weeks ago, I learned that she would be at Holy Hill in Wisconsin!

I knew I had to be there. I texted a few friends, and we made a plan for Saturday to drive up and visit one of our best friends.

Hundreds of flowers decorated the Basilica and National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Hubertus.

Thousands of people came to venerate the relics of such a beloved saint.

It melted my heart to see so many children with their parents, praying with a devotion and simplicity that inspires me to “become like a child” again.

“This is Jesus, and this is St. Thérèse,” one mother whispered to her daughter during Holy Mass. I turned quickly and captured this moment that warmed my heart. I want to remember it…

St. Thérèse taught me the “Little Way,” the clear path to Heaven.

I don’t have to do anything great in this world; I only have to “do small things with great love.”

Small acts of kindness,
cheerful sacrifices,
hidden acts of love,
accepting daily annoyances patiently.

She captures it perfectly. She is a saint and our friend!

St. Thérèse of Lisieux pray for us!
