When Peak Design first revealed their new Everyday Line V2, I grabbed the 20L Everyday Backpack since it’s my favorite among my sizable collection of camera backpacks.

The Everyday Backpack was first made public by Peak Design as a result of an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign. That was in the year 2015.

As it continues to be a global success and has stayed largely unaltered for a few years, it was only a matter of time before Peak Design ventured out and gave it a fresh update.

What is the difference between Peak Design Everyday Backpack V1 vs V2?

Peak Design released their second version of the Everyday Backpack, addressing some user feedback and refining the design. Here’s a comparison:

  1. Capacity: The V1 had 20L and 30L capacity options; the V2 has 15L and 20L options.
  2. Interior Organization: Both versions prioritize organization, but the V2 introduces a more customizable FlexFold divider system, providing greater flexibility in arranging gear.
  3. Exterior Design: While the overall aesthetic remains similar, the V2 features a more streamlined exterior with improved weatherproofing.
  4. Improved Zipper Design: The V2 features redesigned zippers for smoother operation and increased durability.
  5. Comfort: Peak Design enhanced the shoulder straps and back panel padding in the V2 for improved comfort during extended wear.
  6. Laptop/Tablet Sleeve: The V2 includes an improved laptop and tablet sleeve design with additional padding and better protection.
  7. Side Access: The V2 introduces dual side access, allowing for easier retrieval of items from either side of the backpack.
  8. Material: The V2 uses more sustainable materials compared to the V1, reflecting a broader industry trend towards eco-friendliness.
